I knew Sam from school (Chalvedon) as she was in some of my classes (I think my form as well) and she was really nice to everyone and I can honestly say that nobody had a bad word to say about her. I occasionally walked home with Sam from school as we lived quite near each other. I remember we used to hop over the fence and make our way across the busy road just prior to entering the estate where Sam lived and that was always a bit hairy but sort of added to the adventure a bit I think. There are two things that I remember about Sam, one is the amazing smile she had and her general sunny disposition lit up a room and any company she had. The other thing I remember is that she was very pretty of course and all the boys liked her but the thing was she would talk to anyone and she wasn't stuck up at all ... I mean she used to walk home with me and I'm only mr average and so when I'd heard the news not too long ago about her passing away I was really sad about it although of course I'd not seen Sam for some time. The last time I saw her was in a local pub ('The Bull' formerly 'The Prohibition') and she explained to me that the cancer was in remission and at that point and she was wearing a hat which she was fond of I remember. Even then she still had that lovely sunny smile! I don't know the family but I wish Steve and all the family and all those who knew her the very best for the future and I know that Sam will be sorely missed but anyone who has been lucky enough to spend what was in the end precious time with her.
